Honesty
Like the coldest water on the hotest day, an honest statement refreshes.
The layers of dirt and mud that cover us solidify over time. These lies we tell are the dirt and grime that hide the reality of who we are. And shamefully we say that the mud is our true selves because we're scared of what people will think when they see what's underneath.
We layer lie on top of lie thinking that we're saving ourselves from shame and conflict.
And in that moment, when we see what we've become - a monster of mud and lies, we cower even deeper into the shame.
Relationships are the connections we make. If those connections are made from lies, then they are nothing more than mud and dirt.
Honesty - about who you are, how far you've fallen, and who you wish you could be... this is the stuff of waterfalls; washing away the mud and dirt, making visible the gift God has placed in front of you - a redeemer who takes great joy in beginning and finishing the process of forming you into the man or woman He made you to be.
